India’s compound archers produced a phenomenal show at the 24th Asian Archery Championships 2025 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, clinching three gold medals and two silvers to finish on top of the medal standings.

Leading the charge was Jyothi Surekha Vennam, who scripted history by winning two golds — in both the individual and team events, marking another landmark moment for Indian archery on the continental stage.

India’s compound archers delivered a stunning all-round performance at the 24th Asian Archery Championships 2025 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, clinching three golds and two silvers to finish at the top of the medal table.

The undisputed star of the championship was Jyothi Surekha Vennam, who bagged two gold medals — one in the individual and another in the women’s team event.

Jyothi Surekha Vennam Shines Bright

The 29-year-old champion archer continued her golden run, defeating compatriot Prithika Pradeep 147-145 in an all-India women’s individual final to claim the top spot.

With this victory, Jyothi became the first compound archer in history to win three individual Asian Championship titles — adding 2025 to her previous triumphs in 2015 and 2021.

“It’s a proud moment for me and for India. Winning the title again feels special because of the incredible consistency of our team,” said Jyothi after the match.

India Clinches Gold in Women’s Team Event

In the women’s team final, Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Deepshikha, and Prithika Pradeep edged out South Korea in a thrilling 236-234 finish.
The Indian trio displayed world-class precision, producing near-perfect ends of 59 and 58, with consistent 10s across the board.

Korean team lineup: Park Yerin, Oh Yoohyun, and Jungyoon Park.
Despite their strong finish, they couldn’t match India’s accuracy under pressure.

Mixed Team Strikes Gold – Abhishek Verma & Deepshikha Deliver

India’s third gold came in the compound mixed team event, where Abhishek Verma and Deepshikha showcased nerves of steel to beat hosts Bangladesh 153-151.
The duo shot identical 38-point ends, maintaining composure in the closing arrows to seal the title.

Close Calls for Silver – Men’s Team & Prithika Pradeep

India narrowly missed a fourth gold in the men’s compound team final, losing 229-230 to Kazakhstan in a nail-biting finish.
The trio of Abhishek Verma, Sahil Rajesh Jadhav, and Prathamesh Bhalchandra Fuge fought valiantly but the Kazakh team of Dilmukhamet Mussa, Bunyod Mirzametov, and Andrey Tyutyun held steady in the last round.

Meanwhile, Prithika Pradeep claimed India’s second silver, finishing runner-up to Jyothi in the individual final — completing a stunning India 1-2 podium sweep.
